We are a semi-retired couple living on a beautiful rural estate located in Middle Tennessee, USA, with fields and fields of lavender, Brazilian horses, a small flock of sheep and of course, our precious and funny Goldendoodle named Gracie. We are looking for a Couple Team (OR) two separate individuals to help manage the house(s) and the horse and lavender operations.

The property consists of approximately 450 acres with many conveniences and systems in place to maintain, a principle residence, 2 guest quarters, 2 staff houses and 3 full time employees.

Flexible work week with weekend work required as needed when entertaining.

Must have a strong command of the English language and good communication skills, both written and verbal . At least one member with the ability to speak and understand Spanish is a big plus.

Candidates Must:
Be legal to work in USA
Have a valid and clean driver’s license
Verifiable references are essential
Be somewhat computer savvy.
Positions include use of vehicle and phone. Possible live-in position with commensurate salary depending on experience and skill set, set stipend towards health benefits AND possible yearly profit share opportunity for the right long term couple team or individual.
The two roles would be a HOUSE MANAGER and ESTATE /FARM MANAGER, split accordingly.

The HOUSE MANAGER must be detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills. She/He will be charged with maintaining a 3500 sf home daily and 2 guest quarters as needed, daily housekeeping, laundry and wardrobe care, grocery shopping, errands, cooking health conscious and delicious meals 3-4 days a week, table setting and serving as needed, stocking the home with staples and fresh foods.
• A culinary background or experience with the Mediterranean Diet lifestyle is a plus.
• Keep inventory of household items (light bulbs, batteries, paper products, etc…) and restock as needed
• Maintain and update a household manual/check list of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tasks
• Maintain household vendor list
• Prepare home for occasional events such as holiday or parties. Coordinate with vendors as needed
• Schedule personal appointments and assist with personal projects as needed
• Must be able to multitask, work independently and as a team member.
• No job to big or too small attitude.
• Fit and active

The ESTATE/FARM MANAGER must be entrepreneurial, detailed oriented with excellent project and managerial skills with the ability to supervise existing employees and manage the day to day operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced at working within a budget and coming up with ideas to make the estate generate a greater income.

Desired experience and skills to include:
• On call day and night 7 days a week. Work pattern is seasonally influenced
• Monitoring animal health and welfare and liaison with vet
• Experience with horses and/or horse breeding a plus
• Knowledge of flower and herb production and gardens
• Extensive horticultural knowledge and skill a plus
• Experience with lavender production and marketing them a huge plus
• Knowledgeable and passionate about gardens a plus
• Equipment knowledge and skill with large and small farm equipment
• Maintenance and building knowledge, project management and staff management
• Planning finances and production to maintain farm progress in line with budgets
• Driving tractors, operating machinery, feeding livestock, spraying fields.
• Marketing the farm’s products.
• Buying supplies such as fertilizer and seeds.
• Knowledge on crop rotation, and growing cycles.
• Arranging the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment.
• Mentoring and monitoring trainee staff
• Understanding the implications of the weather and making contingency plans.
• Ensuring products are ready for deadlines, such as auctions and markets.
• Ensuring that farm activities comply with government regulations.
• Maintaining knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them.
• Applying health and safety standards across the farm estate.
• Keeping financial and animal records up to date.

Also to be considered is the landowner’s need to diversify their activities in order to supplement their income. Supplementary activities may include:
• Bed and breakfast or holiday lets.
• Field sports/shoots
• Speciality herds, such as sheep
• Possible farm shop
• Fishing lakes.
• Horse trials
• Vegetables or cold pressed oils and other food products.
• Flowers and herbs.
